This tone is a very consistent surface with a softer touch. Fast and easy sharpening feeling, makes soft steel fine polish and a bit fuzzy finish on hard steel, it can be finer and finer when you use more time. Good for kitchen knives, planes, and chisels. It is a bit too soft for a straight razor but still works.
